- MusicSynk is a personalized Sync Rights Organization, a licensing accelerator platform that brings a powerful suite of tools to Content Owners and Supervisors. MusicSynk connects the content owners and music buyers together in an easy-to-use online platform. We are passionate about bringing sync licensing into the 21st century, in a way that respects both users with copyright integrity for premium copyrights.
- Is MusicSynk similar to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or SOCAN?
- PROs collect for performance royalties, like radio, coffee shops, and other performances. We do not collect for performances, Musicsynk organizes the sync licensing process in innovative ways. So just like Publishers and Songwriter affiliate with a PRO (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN) and HFA, now there are SRO.
- How is MusicSynk different form iTunes?
- MusicSynk accelerates the transaction for premium publishers, labels, and artists focused in the sync vertical only. We don't do .99 cent downloads. Another way to think of it is, MusicSynk is a BtoB platform, where itunes is a BtoC consumer focus. We love itunes we are just solving a different problem.
- Why is MusicSynk invitation only?
- an overwhelming number of people signed up for our Beta but we only have a limited number of invitations. MusicSynk is an exclusive community for content licensing, so each MusicSynk member is verified by invitation or referral. This helps maintain the quality of platform. You can instantly be verified or request membership.
- Who uses MusicSynk?
- We have two users: 1. Content Owners and 2. Music Supervisors. Let's look at each.
- Content Creators are users that own, represent, or administer sync requests for their content (like music publishers, studio musicians, producers, songwriters, labels, and even artist managers).
- Supervisors are licensees, clearance experts in Film & TV, Advertising Agencies, Filmmakers, & Broadcasters.
- Both users are music professionals that use the MusicSynk tools to control the sync licensing process every step of the way.
- Is MusicSynk a song plugger?
- No, MusicSynk doesn't grant or price the use of the content. Our modules allow content owners to control their workflow process in previously unavailable ways. From a passive workflow to a pro-active workflow, song pluggers use our suite of tools everyday to remove friction from the process.
- I am a filmmaker, can I become a member?
- Yes, our supervisor filmmaker account gives filmmakers access to catalogs all over the world with modules that are specific to how they work. Jump in here.
- Is MusicSynk a jingle company?
- We are not a jingle company in the traditional sense. We don't create music in the jingle house model, but the MusicSynk platform is used everyday by advertising agencies that license music.
- How is Musicsynk different than the Harry Fox Agency (HFA)?
- HFA processes mechanical licenses for physical product. MusicSynk facilitates accelerates the processes sync licenses. MS is focused on a very narrow user set. We don't want to be all things to all people, We are passionate about one problem for 2 very focused users.
- Is a synchronization license, a statutory license?
- No, each sync license is negotiated dependent on the terms of each use. There is no statutory license for sync licenses.
